Biography
Leonardo Giani is a Research Fellow of the Florence School of Banking and Finance at the European University Institute.
Leonardo holds a LL.M. (Columbia University, New York, 2011), a Ph.D. in law & economics (University of Siena, 2010), a postgraduate master’s degree in law & economics (University of Siena, 2008) and a master’s degree in law (Bocconi University, Milan, 2004).
Leonardo was a visiting scholar at the Boston University School of Law since January to June 2007, he was a Max Weber Fellow at the European University Institute in the academic year 2011/2012 and a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Florence since July 2013 to March 2015.
Leonardo worked at the European Central Bank for an overall period of fifteen months since 2007 to 2009, he practiced as an attorney at law since 2009 to 2015 (where compatible with academic activities), he worked as a legal & compliance expert in an investment bank since 2015 to 2019 and he worked as a senior legal expert at the Italian Investment Management Association (Assogestioni) since 2019 to 2022.
Leonardo has published articles on business law, banking law and bankruptcy law in Italian as well as in English.
