The workshop focuses on exploring the current utilization of AI in the financial industry and its implications for supervisors. We will reflect on the challenges AI poses from a supervisory perspective and provide guidance on how to effectively address these challenges. Additionally, the workshop aims to contribute to supervisory convergence by fostering discussions around whether supervisors possess the necessary skill set for handling more complex AI models, the potential supervisory tools and processes that could be utilized, and how governance frameworks may need to evolve to accommodate new actors and interactions with authorities from other sectors. Through collaborative dialogue, the workshop aims to assist National Competent Authorities (NCAs) in their journey to prepare for supervising AI effectively.
